What is Thai Massage?
Thai Massage, or Nuad Bo-Rarn, is an ancient Thai medicinal tradition with roots in Buddhism, yoga, and Chinese medicine. It is a unique and powerful massage system that incorporates elements of mindfulness, loving kindness intention, techniques of gentle rocking, assisted stretches, and rhythmic pressure on specific energy lines (sen). The effect is uniquely relaxing as well as energizing. Sessions are performed on a floor mat with the client dressed in comfortable clothing.
Dominique Fry is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and a certified yoga teacher in the Ashtanga tradition. She has studied Thai Massage with Ananda Apfelbaum and with Mama Nit in Changmai, Thailand.
